Like location is to real estate, mindset is to learning.
A fixed mindset is a dead-end to lifelong learning. A growth mindset is its rocket fuel.
I grew up with a fixed mindset. Getting good grades, avoiding failure and resistance to negative feedback were my tendencies.
But after studying Carol Dweck’s work, I discovered how limiting, even sad, my old mindset was.
I wanted more for my children – and myself. Thankfully, mindset can change.
The Acton learning journey is grounded in growth mindset: embracing mistakes, celebrating effort, accepting challenges with feedback, and knowing the power of the word yet.
